Oneica Benn brings the expertise of over a decade’s experience in the world of education from the elementary to higher education. Always both academically and pedagogically minded, Oneica began working as a teacher assistant at the New York City Department of Education. During that time, she began to develop a passion for working with children. After graduating from Brooklyn College with her B.A in English she had decided to work as a teacher. She taught English, Math, Social Studies, Reading, Writing, and History. In 2008 after she graduated with her M.A in Sociology she had decided to further pursue a PhD in Administration and currently teaches Sociology, Criminology, and Political Science at the College of New Rochelle in Manhattan, NY. She has also been tutoring in the different subject areas including Math and English. Oneica’s years of work with a broad range of students was involved with her students and their families as a personal. Oneica brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to Heroes for Learning In My Community. She has been associated with independent schools, public education, and other educational organizations that have trained her in individualizing the learning experience according to each student’s personal style of learning.

Patricia D Stanford E.d.S brings nearly two decades of professional experience in educational counseling, program development, and student affairs to Heroes for Learning in My Community. An accomplished speaker, program developer, communicator, and facilitator, Patricia has an established record of providing for and being an outstanding supporter to her clients. Throughout her career, Patricia has worked with countless students to ensure that they are placed in the best schools that cater to their needs. Following completion of Doctorate in Curriculum Design from Liberty University in 2015, Patricia had decided to use her expertise to better service the future generations. She has also worked at the NYC, DOE as a teacher for 12 yrs. She opened her own after-school program in Brooklyn, NY in the summer of 2012. She has developed and implemented several programs to help further the learning abilities of the students. Additionally, Patricia has advised and mentor students. Since founding Heroes for Learning, Patricia has presented several workshops on “How to get your child/ren to be accepted into high performing schools across the nation including public schools, charter schools, and private schools. Furthermore, she has been working tirelessly to identify and mentors intellectually gifted school age children for placement in the New York area’s most prestigious independent day and boarding schools Patricia has been a featured keynote speaker at her after-school and other conferences on student issues.
